Dentistry
is too expensive.

The truth is dentistry is not expensive, neglect
is.

Nothing
hurts right now and nothing is bothering me.

Unlike other bacterial infections we acquire (like
sore throats and infections) there is no antibiotic
treatment for dental decay. Decay is progressive.
Todays small cavity can turn into a root canal
if not treated.

Can
I postpone treatment?
|
|
|
We can not force you to schedule treatment.
That is your decision. We can only make treatment
recommendations based on real time diagnosis.
What may be a small filling today at a small cost
could turn into extensive treatment at 10-20 times
the original estimate.

Will
my insurance cover it?
|
|
|
Insurance is the most misunderstood concept about
dentistry. Insurance provides minimal to less than
minimal coverage for any necessary dental treatment.
Insurance was not designed to provide unlimited
comprehensive dental care. If you require comprehensive
corrective treatment, chances are you will never
have enough insurance to cover the cost. Waiting
for, or, waiting for yearly maximums for your insurance
to cover your treatment is highly detrimental to
your dental health and more costly to you. Patients
who plan dental treatment within their insurance
maximums have a higher rate of dental problems and
spend much more time in the dental chair then necessary.

Just
pull the tooth.

Please see the TMJ section of our web site. Teeth
are a major factor in jaw stability. Disrupting
this balance leads to increased risk of TMJ.

Going
to the dentist is not as important as going to my regular
Physician.

Quite the opposite. Your dental health has major
effects on the rest of your body. Poor oral health
has been linked to some forms of heart disease,
diabetes, and GI. Many types of surgeries can not
be performed until the patient's dental issues have
been resolved due to the infectious oral bacteria
present in dental disease.
