TMJ- This Dentist May Alleviate Your Headaches,
Neckaches, Shoulder Aches or Ringing in Your Ears
TMJ - headaches, neck aches, shoulder aches, ringing in your ears
TMD - temporomandibular joint discorderNeuromuscular dentistry represents an exciting development in dentistry. In addition to traditional dentistry, Dr. Martin Fraschetti is a neuromuscular dentist dedicated to utilizing the latest technologies to treat a variety of disorders. His goal is to maximize your comfort during dental treatment and help alleviate TMJ symptoms such as headaches, neck and shoulder pain, jaw pain, clicking or popping in the jaw and tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Many of these symptoms may be misdiagnosed or dismissed as having no physiological cause.

The first goal of neuromuscular dentistry is to find the "correct" jaw position where muscles are relaxed and at rest. This is a three-dimensional position in space and is often unrelated to the position of the teeth. We utilize a number of sophisticated instruments in our practice to find the position where the jaws, teeth, and muscles operate in harmony.

Once the lower jaw is comfortable, an orthotic (appliance) is created to allow the jaw to close to this ideal position. This is not to be confused with a "bite guard". In this way, pain trigger points will go away, and the joint and muscles will heal. This orthotic appliance is utilized for a few months to stabilize the bite and insure that all symptoms are gone.

At this point a decision is made for permanent stability, corrective orthodontics, crowns, or both.

Dr. Fraschetti has successfully treated patients from across North America, usually when they have had no relief from other treatment. Give us a call at 586.773.1212 and LET US RELIEVE YOUR PAIN!
NON-SURGICAL GUM TREATMENT
(Soft Tissue Management)
Non-Surgical Gum Treatment
This is NOT a substitute for gum surgery.

We have concentrated our efforts on infection control in treatment of periodontal (gum) diseases. When proper measures are employed to eliminate the bacteria surrounding the tissues and roots of the teeth, patients can enjoy long-term recovery from destructive periodonal diseases. Periodontal infections can be associated with serious side effects, including bad breath (halitosis), loss of teeth, and systemic complications such as increasing the risk of stroke and premature low birth weight babies

Our treatment consists of diagnosing and treating anaerobic infections. We may be able to reduce the need for expensive gum surgery by actively addressing these infections. For more information please call us at 586.773.1212.
